Pearl Van Geest, Natural Selection
Having earned a Bachelor of Science before studying at the Ontario College of Art in Design in Toronto, Pearl Van Geest positions herself at the intersection of art and science in her work, exploring questions about the nature of human reality and the natural world, our place in it and perception of it. This rigorous investigation into the conceptual premise of her work sheds an interesting light on the ways in which our consciousness negotiates the chasm dividing our cultural and sensual perceptions.
Van Geest holds over a dozen awards for her work and has exhibited across Canada. She has been reviewed numerous times in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Toronto Star, and other publications.
